Atikokan is known for being a paddlers paradise and is proud to be the Canoeing Capital of Canada. This winter, with your help, we are hoping to add a new title to our name and become the “Ice Fishing Capital of Ontario”.

Atikokan will be participating in the Ontario Ice Fishing Challenge. Kicking off on February 13th on Family Fishing Weekend this COVID safe event takes place completely on your own phone in the Angler’s Atlas MyCatch app. Registration is required and is $20. Competitors submit their catches in app to complete for prizes in various areas and for the top spot on both the Atikokan and the Ontario wide leaderboards.

While we hope to see COVID guidelines relax as the situation improves ice fishing is allowed under current restrictions.

Rest assured secret spots stay secret.
