Participants are divided into three different age groups and fish for an hour before they are awarded based on their catch for the day. Each child is awarded a medal for participating as well as a goodie bag filled with material provided by businesses around the community. There are also cash prizes for first, second and third place fish in each age group. A complimentary BBQ is offered to both the children and their parents.
