Friends and Family Ice Fishing Day
at the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area
Join Conservation Sudbury for our fifth annual Friends and Family Ice Fishing Day! The event will be held on Sunday, February 19th, 2017 at the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area Nature Chalet (2309 South Bay Rd.) from 12:00 noon – 4:00 p.m. That weekend is an Ontario Family Fishing weekend, so no fishing licenses are required (more information at ontariofamilyfishing.com). Ice fishing activities will include learning proper catch and release techniques and making your own ice fishing rod from a stick. Ice augers, gear and free bait will be available courtesy of our partners, the OFAH Tackleshare program, Ramakko’s and the Sudbury Game and Fish Protective Association. Round out the day with building a snowman or sculpture on the lake, or going for a snowshoe out on the lake or hiking trails – snowshoes and maps will be available for free. Warm up at any time at the Nature Chalet or by our outdoor fire and enjoy complimentary hot beverages. All ages are welcome!
No registration is required – drop in any time!
