Local OPP and MNR officers will be helping children learn the joys of fishing this summer during the annual Finlayson Point Provincial Park Kids Fishing Day, Saturday July 14th. Taking place at the Boat Basin in Finlayson Point Provincial Park on Lake Temagami from 1-4 p.m. the event is open to families staying at the park as well as Day Use Visitors. Participants can look forward to a casting competition, rides in the OPP boat, a catch and release fishing competition by age group and lots of giveaways and prizes. The event is part of a Canada-wide celebration, National Fishing Week and the annual Ontario Family Fishing Events Week.
