The Moira Lake Fishing Derby is supported by The Moira Lake Property Owners Assoc. and The Madoc Lions Club. The event is planned around family fun and an opportunity for adults to introduce young people to the sport of Ice Fishing. There will be 4 cash prizes (Largest Walleye in slot size/lbs., Largest Northern Pike /lbs., Hidden Wieght/lbs., Largest Fish Youths /12 and under/lbs). There will also be hourly draws for great merchandise prizes (9 draws), and you don’t have to fish to win these prizes. There will be a food both selling Peameal Bacon on a Bun, Hot Dogs, Coffee and Hot Chocolate. A registration fee of $10.00 per participant will be collected at the registration/weigh-in station located on Highway 62 at the bay adjacent to the Moira Lake Cottages. Bring your own fishing gear. All proceeds from this event go back to community projects. Hope to see you there!
