The Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture will be running a fishing derby for kids under 17 years of age. The derby will have three categories, Longest Fish, Widest Fish and most fish caught. The Derby is catch and release. Prizes will be awarded in all three categories. Participants will be required to register on site before they start fishing in order to qualify for a prize. Bait for Derby participants will be provided. Participants will be notified of designated fishing areas once registered.

Members from the Port Hope Police Services will be assisting with the day’s events. Fisheries Biologist, Brian Morrison will also be on site and available to answer questions or provide some insight into species being caught.
