The annual Backus Heritage Children’s Fishing Derby is open to children 16 years of age and under and takes place from 8 am until 1 pm.

Young anglers can drop a line in the Mill Pond for a chance to win a great prize and maybe even catch the “Big One”. Regular park admission and derby entry fee of $2.00/child is required. The fishing derby is presented in conjunction with Kids, Cops and Canadian Tire Fishing Days, Simcoe Canadian Tire and the Norfolk OPP Detachment.
