Toronto Islands Boathouse
A limited number of rods and reels can be borrowed on a first come first serve basis. Bait is supplied at no cost.
At the OFAH/OPG Travelling TackleShare booth, staff will be present to lend out fishing rods and bait for new anglers to try fishing. The first 300 families will get a grab bag. At 1:30 pm, prizes including 30 fishing rods will be given away! This is a FREE event but normal Toronto Island entry fees apply.
Special Note: MNRF’s Learn to Fish Program will be offered to a limited number of participants at Toronto Islands who pre-register at www.trcastewardshipevents.ca . One hour of dryland instruction will include fishing basics, safety, species identification, basic tackle, conservation and more. Participants will be able to fish with those who attend the Urban Fishing Festival at 10 a.m.
Directions: Take the ferry to Centre Island and then walk to the Big White Bridge before the fountain.
